The Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Manager of Computer Operations to oversee our technical team and ensure seamless IT service delivery. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate daily activities of the technical team, ensuring operational support coverage and adherence to SLAs.
  • Monitor system performance and availability, resolving issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement operational standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Plan and manage the integration and support of new technologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, project leaders, and technical staff.
  • Provide input on business continuity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of IT work experience with exposure to multi-platform environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel between FDOT locations 25% - 40% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing a ladder and stooping.
Preferences
  • Experience in managing IT service delivery and asset management.
  • Familiarity with IT service management processes: incident, problem, change, and request management.
  • Experience in coordinating enterprise-wide software rollouts and updates.
