Role Description The Senior Fire Alarm Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Centennial, CO, responsible for installing, programming, testing, inspecting, and maintaining commercial fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards. This role includes diagnosing system issues, performing advanced troubleshooting on low-voltage equipment, and coordinating repairs or upgrades to ensure reliable life safety protection. The technician will interpret engineering drawings and specifications, collaborate with project managers and other field personnel, and complete accurate documentation for all service and installation work. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve communicating clearly with clients, explaining system functionality and maintenance needs, and supporting the development of long-term customer relationships through professional, responsive service. The Senior Fire Alarm Technician may also mentor junior technicians and help improve internal processes and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Low Voltage Engineering and Alarm Systems, including installation, programming, and integration of commercial fire alarm equipment.
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills for complex fire alarm and related low-voltage systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of Life Safety principles, codes, and standards (e.g., NFPA, local building and fire codes) and their application to fire alarm systems.
  • Proven Customer Service skills, including clear communication, professionalism on job sites, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Relevant certifications such as NICET in Fire Alarm Systems (or progress toward certification), manufacturer-specific training, or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience as a fire alarm technician in commercial or industrial environments, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications, and to complete accurate service reports and documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to job sites, and capability to meet physical requirements of field work (e.g., ladders, lifting equipment) in a safe manner.
