As a Craftsman in our Lafayette R&D facility, you will fabricate and refine prototype cabinetry components using our innovative FFB material. This hands-on role supports prototyping, validation testing, and real-world use-case demonstrations for the cabinetry industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret technical drawings, prototypes, and R&D specifications to build accurate test parts.

• Use hand tools, power tools, routers, saws, and specialized equipment for precision layout, cutting, routing, sanding, and assembly.

• Collaborate with R&D engineers to test material performance, troubleshoot behavior during machining/finishing, and iterate designs.

• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, surface quality, and validation criteria.

• Document processes, observations, and improvement ideas to advance FFB applications in cabinetry.

• Maintain a safe, organized R&D workspace while following all safety and material-handling protocols.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training or apprenticeship in fabrication, woodworking, composites, or millwork strongly preferred.

• 6 - 10 years of hands-on experience in fabrication, cabinetry/millwork, or working with engineered wood/composite materials.

• Proficiency with hand/power tools and precision measuring instruments.

• Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed R&D instructions.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail suited for iterative development work.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions.

Preferred Skills:

• 6-10 years Experience with composite panels, laminates, or sustainable materials in furniture/cabinetry.

• Basic CNC, welding, or advanced woodworking machinery knowledge.

• Prior prototyping or R&D environment experience.
