Job description

Job Title: Case Manager

Location: Charlotte, NC

Reports To: Program Manager

Classification: Exempt/Full-Time

Family Services of America Corporation is seeking a Qualified Professional / Case Manager to support youth in our Emergency Placement Facility in Charlotte, NC. This role provides case management, service coordination, crisis support, and supervision of Behavioral Technicians in a fast-paced shelter setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete intake assessments and develop individualized service plans/placement agreements for youth residents.
  • Coordinate care with DSS partners, families, schools, medical providers, court personnel, and other collateral contacts.
  • Monitor resident progress, update service plans, and support safe transitions or discharges.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and support Behavioral Technicians assigned to the shelter.
  • Respond to behavioral or mental health crises using trauma-informed de-escalation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, incident documentation, and service records.
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage for emergency placements and after-hours needs.
  • Support program launch activities, staff readiness, workflow development, and shelter operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related human services field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must meet applicable Qualified Professional requirements for North Carolina child-serving programs.
  • Licensure as LCSW, LCSWA, LCMHC, LCMHCA, or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in child welfare, foster care, residential care, emergency shelter, or a related child-serving field.
  • Experience supervising, training, or mentoring direct-care staff preferred.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks before employment
