Job Description

Do you love babies and want to make a difference in their development? We are looking to add a motivated, reliable and caring teacher to join our staff as an Infant Lead Guide. As an Infant Lead Guide, you will be responsible for the daily care and development of infants from six weeks to eighteen months old, following Montessori principles in our Nido classroom. You will maintain a calm, clean and orderly environment, provide responsive and individualized care to each child. As a highly visible member of a busy and varied Montessori program, you must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask with frequent disruptions.

Qualification

• Must be 18 years or older
• Previous experience in an infant or childcare setting required
• Montessori infant/toddler experience preferred but not required
• CPR and First Aid certification required, or willingness to obtain
• Flexibility between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm
• Interest in working with infants in a patient, gentle and observant manner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask responsibilities
• Team player mentality with a positive and receptive attitude, comfortable directing assistants

Responsibilities

• Carrying yourself in a professional, punctual and personable fashion
• Embodying a warm, calm presence to infants and families
• Leading and directing classroom assistants in daily routines and care
• Planning and implementing an age appropriate Montessori infant curriculum
• Maintaining a well organized, clean and safe classroom environment
• Observing and documenting each infant's development and milestones
• Following individualized feeding, sleeping and diapering schedules for each infant
• Responding promptly and attentively to each infant's needs
• Maintaining open and clear communication with parents regarding their child's day
• Supervising infants during outside and sensory time
• Performing cleaning and sanitizing duties, both assigned and proactively
• Preparing bottles, assisting with feeding, and supporting early self feeding skills
