Automotive Diagnostic Technician – $30/hr to Start (DOE)

Full-Time | M–F, 8AM–5PM | Lewiston, ID

A trusted, honest, long‑standing local shop is hiring a Diagnostic Technician who can take the lead on electrical, drivability, and computer‑based diagnostics. If you’re the tech who gets pulled in when others hit a wall, this is the role built for you.

What You’ll Get

• $30/hr to start (higher DOE for deeper diagnostic capability)

• Monday–Friday, 8–5 with a 1‑hour lunch

What You’ll Do

• Lead diagnostics on gas and diesel vehicles (electrical, drivability, communication faults)

• Use scan tools, live data, and waveforms to identify root causes

• Perform programming, resets, coding, and calibrations (OEM + aftermarket platforms)

• Support mechanical repairs based on diagnostic findings

• Document results clearly and collaborate with service staff

What You Need to Bring

• Strong diagnostic experience — electrical, drivability, or advanced scan tool work

• Ability to diagnose issues without guesswork

• Solid mechanical background across major systems

• Valid driver’s license + reliable work habits

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

• CAN bus diagnostics

• Module programming

• Diesel experience

• Oscilloscope/waveform analysis
