Warehouse Supervisor

Pay: $66,000–$86,000/year

Schedule: 5:30 AM–3:30 PM

Overtime: Required during busy season, with shifts potentially extending until 5:30 PM

Position Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations while ensuring efficiency, safety, quality, and inventory accuracy. This position leads warehouse personnel, manages material flow, supports production and shipping needs, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily receiving, shipping, inventory, and warehouse operations.
  • Lead and develop warehouse employees through training, cross-training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and implement inventory control practices, including cycle counting and inventory analysis.
  • Monitor the movement and storage of materials to ensure production and shipping requirements are met.
  • Coordinate material transfers between the warehouse and plant to prevent production interruptions.
  • Monitor quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Identify and resolve warehouse, inventory, and material-flow issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and communicate damaged goods resulting from warehouse flow or handling issues.
  • Maintain strong housekeeping and 5S standards throughout warehouse areas.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for receiving and shipping operations and monitor overtime needs.
  • Oversee timekeeping and vacation planning for warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment repairs and maintenance are addressed promptly and economically.
  • Enforce company and government safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve warehouse organization, material flow, and efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of warehouse management systems, including barcoding and scanning.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse management tools and practices such as PFEP and ABC cycle counting.
  • Assist leadership with developing new procedures and techniques to improve receiving and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

  • Working knowledge of purchasing, customer service, data processing, transportation, inventory, and warehousing.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Ability to motivate, train, and develop employees while maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to achieve goals through effective leadership and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or high school diploma with 3–5 years of warehouse supervision experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, or material flow within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Previous Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar leadership experience required.
  • Progressive responsibility in current or previous warehouse roles.
  • Experience with inventory management and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures related to material flow preferred.
