Compensation
$44,000.00 – $50,000.00 annually
A Day in This Role
- Run end-to-end payroll for hourly and salaried employees, from pre-processing to final confirmation.
- Maintain pristine employee records by entering and auditing new hires, exits, pay changes, and direct deposit updates.
- Validate time data by reviewing digital timesheets, fixing exceptions, and ensuring accurate wage calculations.
- Administer deductions including voluntary benefits, 401(k) contributions, and court-ordered garnishments.
- Manage payroll taxation by calculating and filing federal, multi-state, and local taxes in alignment with applicable laws.
- Produce reporting such as internal payroll metrics, monthly payroll-related journal entries, and year-end outputs like W-2s and tax documents.
- Audit systems and records through routine database checks and by preparing documentation for external corporate auditors.
- Support employees by resolving questions on pay distribution, withholding elections, and benefit-related payouts.

- Workday, ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or QuickBooks Payroll
- Microsoft Excel (advanced), plus database administration tools
- General financial accounting systems for journal entry posting and reconciliations
What You’ll Bring
- Certification: CPP, Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), or NACPB Certified Payroll Specialist (CPS)
- Regulatory fluency: in-depth understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), multi-state tax rules, and local labor requirements
- Technical acumen: advanced Excel, strong database skills, and a solid grounding in accounting
- Professionalism: meticulous attention to detail, unwavering confidentiality, and clear written/verbal communication
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 2–5 years of focused corporate payroll experience
