Role Description The Spanish Teacher will provide engaging, standards-aligned Spanish instruction to early childhood education students, primarily through teaching sessions. This contract role is in-person, based in Montgomery County, MD. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering Spanish lessons, assessing student progress, assigning and reviewing practice work, and adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs. The Spanish Teacher will collaborate with families and the tutoring team to set goals, share feedback, and support student success. The role may involve small group and one-on-one sessions, maintaining clear records of student performance, and using technology tools to enhance language learning.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Spanish Teaching and Tutoring skills, with the ability to support learners at various proficiency levels.
  • Candidates should possess effective Teaching and Lesson Planning skills to create engaging, structured sessions aligned with learning objectives.
  • Candidates should possess Curriculum Development skills to design and adapt Spanish materials and activities to individual student needs.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills to build rapport and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish and strong command of English; prior experience teaching or tutoring Spanish the Montessori way is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, Linguistics, or a related field preferred; teaching certification or relevant training is an asset.
  • Ability to commute to school locations.
