Job Summary

The Mobile Unit Driver is responsible for safely operating CAHN’s mobile health unit and transporting it to community events, clinical outreach locations, and scheduled maintenance appointments. This role requires a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance. The Mobile Unit Driver ensures the vehicle is clean, wellmaintained, and properly equipped, while supporting CAHN’s mission to expand access to care throughout the community.


Essential Functions

The following duties are considered essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with the ADA to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

  • Drive the mobile unit to CAHN events, outreach locations, maintenance appointments, inspections, and other designated sites.
  • Conduct pretrip inspections to ensure safe operation, including checking tire pressure, lights, brakes, mirrors, and other essential functions.
  • Maintain appropriate fuel, oil, and fluid levels.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and free of debris at all times.
  • Ensure the mobile unit is stocked with necessary equipment and notify appropriate personnel when supplies are needed.
  • Track inspection and decal due dates and communicate upcoming deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about OSHA compliance guidelines and report any potential issues.
  • Report mechanical concerns or malfunctions to the supervisor and designated CAHN personnel.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Schedule
  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Potential for extended hours
  • Onsite position

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License with Class B CDL endorsement required.
  • Excellent driving record required.
  • Tractor trailer experience preferred
  • Experience operating large vehicles or mobile units preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance strongly desired.
