Work Environment

As a remote position, our Licensed Mental Health Counselor will benefit from a flexible work environment, facilitating a balanced approach to work and personal life. Counselors will leverage secure technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate documentation and task management. While the counselor can work from home, collaboration and support among the multidisciplinary team are emphasized through regular virtual meetings and case discussions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments through meetings with patients to evaluate their mental health status, including personal history and presenting issues.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans incorporating evidence-based treatment modalities aimed at addressing identified symptoms and improving overall well-being.
  • Engage with clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques to equip them with the necessary skills to navigate their mental health challenges.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and support groups, as needed, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain updated electronic health records, documenting each session's progress and treatment effectiveness in a timely manner.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision to enhance therapeutic skills and stay current with best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work with a diverse population of clients who may present with a range of issues, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse challenges, and eating disorders. A significant focus will be placed on understanding and respecting the cultural backgrounds of clients, ensuring that our therapeutic approaches are inclusive and culturally responsive.

Qualifications
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • A current and valid state license such as LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling.
  • Proven expertise in various therapeutic modalities and techniques to treat a broad spectrum of mental health disorders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective therapeutic relationships with clients from various backgrounds.
  • Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and adept at general computer applications necessary for documentation and reporting.
  • A commitment to maintaining ethical standards, professional boundaries, and patient confidentiality.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience delivering group therapy sessions and facilitating support groups.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
  • Strong cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse client backgrounds.
  • Engagement in supervisory roles or peer mentorship programs is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
