We are partnering with a global leader in commercial HVAC solutions seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyman – Chiller Mechanic to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems throughout the Denver, Coloradoarea.
This role is ideal for experienced union journeymen with a strong background in chillers and commercial HVAC equipment who are looking to work with advanced technology while receiving ongoing factory training and long-term career development.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment.
- Service chillers, air handling units, rooftop units, fan coils, cooling towers, boilers, water-source heat pumps, and related mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to identify potential equipment issues before failures occur.
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical system issues independently.
- Perform pipefitting, brazing, component replacements, and equipment repairs.
- Complete warranty service, equipment testing, and operational verification.
- Assist with rebuilds, retrofits, and major equipment overhauls.
- Download and analyze controller programs and chiller operating data to optimize system performance.
- Mentor apprentice technicians and provide technical guidance in the field.
- Complete service documentation, time reporting, inventory tracking, and work orders accurately.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures while maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and ongoing technical training.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Journeyman status through the local union required.
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- Strong experience servicing commercial chillers and applied HVAC equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with pipefitting and brazing.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to participate in an emergency on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or HVAC technical school certification.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- First Aid / CPR Certification.
- Previous experience mentoring junior technicians.
