Position Requirements

The Clinical Therapist provides trauma-informed, individualized therapeutic services to youth placed in EverForward’s residential and specialized foster care programs. This position requires a licensed or license-eligible Master’s-level clinician with a deep understanding of complex trauma, family systems, and permanency planning. Therapists are essential in coordinating care and ensuring children and families receive consistent, high-quality behavioral health services across all treatment settings, including community-based work and supervised family interactions.

Position Responsibilities

The therapist holds primary clinical responsibility for a caseload of youth and works collaboratively with families, foster caregivers, case managers, and program staff to develop and implement effective treatment plans. This role includes completing biopsychosocial assessments, providing direct therapeutic services, facilitating case coordination, and documenting clinical activity in compliance with Medicaid, licensing, and agency standards. Therapists contribute to a team-based approach that supports long-term stability and emotional growth for each child. Therapists are expected to participate fully in all components of service delivery, including supervised visits, to support safety, stability, and permanency outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for each youth within the required timeframe
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the child, family, and treatment team
• Provide a minimum of one weekly session of individual therapy per client (or more as clinically indicated)
• Deliver therapeutic services to birth families, foster families, and other permanency resources as needed
• Provide in-home or community-based sessions as needed to support safety, treatment progress, and family engagement
• Facilitate or participate in supervised visits when clinically indicated or required by the case plan
• Attend and contribute to all multidisciplinary team meetings and case staffings
• Maintain up-to-date documentation in accordance with Medicaid, licensing, and agency timelines
• Collaborate with case management, caregivers, and outside providers to ensure holistic, coordinated care
• Participate in evening/weekend crisis support rotation
• Maintain clear and professional communication with the Clinical Director regarding clinical or operational concerns
• Stay current with agency trainings and professional development expectations

Note: This role involves community-based service delivery, including supervised visits and in-home sessions. Reliable transportation, schedule flexibility, and consistent follow-through on all essential job duties are required. Therapists will be expected to uphold all agency, contract, and licensing standards and participate in agency-wide meetings and initiatives.

Requirements:

Education:

• Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related human services field is required.
• Must be licensed or license-eligible in the State of Florida.

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year providing individual, family, and/or group therapy to children with emotional or behavioral challenges.
• Prior experience with foster care populations and/or home-based interventions is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care, treatment planning, and Medicaid billing standards is ideal.
