The Cabinet Maker Technician II will work on custom aviation interior components in a quality-driven, highly regulated environment. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, the ability to read technical drawings, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
  • Fabricate and assemble custom interior components while maintaining strict quality standards.
  • Install hardware including screws, washers, rivets, plated components, electrical components, and related hardware.
  • Work with a variety of materials including wood, metals, composites, laminates, carbon fiber, fiberglass, fabrics, leather, foam, glues, and adhesives.
  • Inspect completed components to ensure workmanship and quality requirements are met.
  • Perform assigned work with minimal supervision and communicate project status to leadership.
  • Accurately document completed work and labor hours.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and other departments to meet project schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow established Quality Management System procedures and applicable FAA/regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail while working in a schedule-driven production environment.
  • Work various shifts and overtime when required.
  • Be available for occasional overnight or short-notice travel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–5 years of related manufacturing, fabrication, refurbishment, or production experience.
  • Aviation industry experience is preferred but not required with equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous cabinet making, woodworking, custom fabrication, or similar hands-on experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using measurements and working to precise specifications.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

  • Routinely lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift 100+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Good hand and finger dexterity.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, around varying temperatures, at heights above six feet, and in noisy environments.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has a passion for custom fabrication and high-end craftsmanship and can take a project from an idea or technical drawing to a quality finished product. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision, appearance, safety, and quality are critical.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cabinet maker or fabricator interested in expanding their skills within the aviation interiors industry and continuing to advance into higher-level technical positions.
