Compensation (Based on experience) $163,800 - $204,700


Position purpose: ย Provides primary medical care services to pediatric patients in an out-patient setting using primary care concepts, emphasizing prevention of illness and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.ย 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages ambulatory Pediatric primary care medical practice by eliciting patient histories, performing physical examinations, providing accurate clinical diagnoses, prescribing evidence based and cost- effective treatments and providing patient education.
  • Adheres to Esperanza Health Center's Productivity Standard for Physicians of an average of at least 2.7 patient visits per hour of ambulatory time worked.
  • Maintains and promotes patient satisfaction through acknowledgement that environmental, social, and cultural factors ย ย ย ย ย influence one's health.ย 
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities of the health center including complete, legible and accurate chart ย ย ย ย ย documentation, Peer Review chart audits and reviews, and designated projects.ย 
  • Practices evidence-based, cost-effective primary care in a team-based model.ย 
  • Makes appropriate diagnoses and prescribes appropriate prescriptions and referrals consistent with Esperanza Health ย ย ย ย ย Center's medical practice guidelines.ย 
  • Prepares, implements and documents age specific preventative health schedules for pediatric patients.ย 
  • Builds and maintains a Pediatric medical practice with follow-up of return appointments and referrals, and other methods that assure continuity of care.ย 
  • Maintains clinical competency through regular Continuing Medical Education and provides documentation of such to ย ย ย ย ย Esperanza Health Center's Administration upon request.ย 
  • Takes call for Esperanza Health Center patients as assigned by the Medical Director. ย

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Medical School.ย 
  • Completed an Accredited Post-Graduate Training Program in Pediatrics.ย 
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.ย 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.ย 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.ย 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.ย

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.ย
