Senior Azure Cloud Architect Job Description:
Cloud Function: Architecture
The Cloud Architect role leads the establishment of cloud architectural best practices and standards as repeatable, efficient cloud assets/products. The role designs cloud architectures and ensures enterprise-level architecture and security standards are followed and enabled through reusable cloud products. This is a hands-on role crafting cloud usage patterns for the entire organization with a strong focus on resilient, secure, scalable infrastructure and migrating workloads to the cloud.
Role Functions
Direct and design cloud architecture and cloud security architecture practices within cloud technology, closely working with CBO, Enterprise Architecture, and Security to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Develop and implement cloud strategies.
Define and document cloud infrastructure standards.
Communicate cloud strategies, standards, products, and decisions to stakeholders.
Define, design, and implement architecture of cloud platform products.
Establish reference architectures for cloud development as Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Design and architect secure and scalable cloud environments, ensuring common patterns are established with necessary security policies in easy-to-implement and maintainable Landing Zones and Application Patterns.
Guide engineering efforts to migrate applications and data to the cloud.
Manage and optimize cloud resources.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Develop and implement cloud governance policies and procedures, ensuring cohesive and standardized cloud technology involvement in enterprise governance (e.g., ARB) processes.
Core Skills
Fundamental
Comprehension of core concepts of CSP (Azure).
Working knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Open Policy Agent.
Basic OS scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
Foundational knowledge of shared services (e.g., Identity, Firewalls, Certificates, Secrets).
Introductory understanding of microservices, containerization, and serverless concepts.
Setup proficiency with monitoring tools for resource tracking and understanding of database types.
On-premises to cloud application migration experience.

Proficient in employing services like computing, storage, and networking.

Expertise in configuring and managing monitoring and logging solutions.
