Forward Deployed Engineer
Entabeni Systems · Black Mountain, New Hampshire
The software and hardware that powers independent ski resorts.
About EntabeniEntabeni (noun; Zulu: “the mountain”).
We build the software and hardware that powers independent ski resorts. Point of sale. Ticketing. RFID access control. Rentals. The full stack — from the database to the gate scanner.
We're the tech behind the Indy Pass and we work exclusively with independent operators. No waterparks. No trade shows. No VC chasing growth at all costs.
What makes us different:
This isn't a typical software engineering job.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be the bridge between our product and the ski resorts that depend on it. You'll write code, yes — but you'll also install hardware, debug a printer that jammed on the coldest day of the season, train operators on a new system, and bring back insights that shape what we build next.
You'll be mostly office-based at Black Mountain, New Hampshire, with travel to partner resorts when deployments, integrations, or on-site support require it.
What You'll Actually DoBuild & Ship SoftwareMost software companies build products and throw them over the wall to support teams. We don't have that luxury. Our customers are ski resorts running our software in -20°F weather, with seasonal staff, unreliable internet, and thousands of guests who just want to get on the lift.
We need engineers who can handle that reality. Who can write great code and explain to a lift operator why the scanner isn't reading passes. Who can debug a production issue and install a new POS terminal. Who see customer problems as interesting puzzles, not interruptions.
If that sounds like you, let's talk.
Compensation & BenefitsSend us:
1. Your resume.
2. A brief note on why this role interests you.
3. Optional: links to any projects, GitHub, or writing that shows how you think.
No cover letter template. No “I'm excited about this opportunity” filler. Just tell us why you'd be good at this.
