Job Summary:
Energy Acuity is a trusted energy-dedicated SaaS company focused on making energy affordable and accessible. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to their Marginal Unit Team, where the role involves building AI-powered systems and maintaining backend services to enhance their innovative energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Build and extend our AI-powered analyst agent, including LLM tool integrations, skill prompt engineering, and structured output pipelines using Claude via AWS Bedrock
• Implement and maintain backend Python services, REST APIs, and async task execution infrastructure
• Take ownership of existing systems and services, redesigning them as necessary to reduce complexity or leverage new technologies
• Design and maintain high-throughput data ingestion and processing pipelines
• Contribute to architectural discussions and influence how the team builds reliable, observable AI systems
• Work directly with power market domain experts to build features that require deep understanding of both the software and the problem space
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong Python backend development
• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered features (tool use, structured outputs, prompt engineering)
• Significant experience working with data-rich applications and pipelines
• Proven success in delivering highly reliable and scalable software systems
• Experience working within and optimizing systems that perform expensive computations
• Experience using Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Kubernetes on GCP or AWS
Preferred:
• Experience learning and working in a highly complex domain (financial trading or power systems is a plus)
