Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will carry the responsibility of delivering high-quality therapeutic services to families, couples, and individuals. Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Conducting therapy sessions with couples, facilitating communication, and resolving conflicts.
  • Providing individual therapy services, ensuring each person’s unique needs are addressed and integrated into treatment.
  • Evaluating patients' mental health status and developing personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific situations.
  • Documenting therapy sessions and maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with state regulations and clinic protocols.
  • Engaging in regular team meetings to enhance therapeutic strategies and share insights on patient care.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development through training sessions and workshops to enhance clinical skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will work with a diverse range of clients dealing with family-related issues, including:

  • Alcohol abuse and dependency
  • Experiences of physical and psychological abuse
  • Grief and loss challenges
  • Family conflicts, including sibling rivalry and cut-offs
  • Adjustments related to separation, divorce, and blended family dynamics
  • Communication difficulties and interpersonal relationships
  • Work-related stress and coping with medical issues
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:

  • Current and active license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Connecticut.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence, cultural competence, and empathy in patient care.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster a therapeutic alliance with clients.
Preferred Experience

While we welcome applications from all qualified candidates, we prefer those who have:

  • Experience working with adult and child/adolescent populations in a clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy practices and tools.
  • Previous practice in a community health or outpatient setting, providing an understanding of diverse patient needs.

Compensation and Benefits
