Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, goals, and preferences, fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address mood disorders and facilitate client healing.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Monitor client progress through regular assessments and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals for integrated patient care, enhancing the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments to enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring client privacy and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate actively in professional development activities, including team meetings and training sessions, to continuously improve clinical skills.
  • Advocate for clients' mental health needs, working towards reducing stigma and ensuring access to essential services.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals struggling with mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will also engage with underserved populations, including homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence, providing vital support and encouragement as they navigate their unique challenges.

Qualifications
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is essential for this role.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for establishing secure and trusted therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients' experiences are fundamental to providing effective therapy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are necessary for managing caseloads and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with clients who have mood disorders, including proficiency in evidence-based treatments.
  • Previous involvement with high-risk populations, such as homeless individuals or domestic violence survivors, is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
  • The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
