Job description

Emily R. Taylor, Attorney PLLC is a mission-driven Arizona law firm focused on estate planning and disability planning. We work closely with individuals and families to create thoughtful, practical legal plans that protect what matters most, especially when a loved one has a disability or when life feels complex.

Our work is personal, relationship-driven, and grounded in helping clients feel confident about the future. We are a collaborative team that values clarity, compassion, and doing excellent work.

About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Attorney, licensed in Arizona, with at least 3 years of experience who is ready to step into a client-facing role and take ownership of meaningful legal work.

This position involves direct engagement with clients, reviewing and advising on estate plans, and handling uncontested matters such as guardianships and trust administration. You will work closely with the team while also managing your own caseload and contributing to the overall client experience.

This is a strong fit for an attorney who enjoys building relationships with clients, explaining complex concepts in a clear way, and being part of a practice that values both technical excellence and human connection.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement and Advising

  • Meet directly with clients to review estate plans and provide clear, practical guidance
  • Explain legal strategies in a way that is approachable and easy to understand
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients over time

Estate Planning Review and Oversight

  • Review drafted estate planning documents for accuracy and alignment with client goals
  • Issue-spot and recommend improvements or alternative strategies when appropriate
  • Ensure plans are complete, cohesive, and properly executed

Guardianship and Trust Administration

  • Handle uncontested guardianship matters from start to finish
  • Support and guide trustees through trust administration processes
  • Prepare and review necessary filings, notices, and documentation

Case Management and Collaboration

  • Manage a caseload with attention to deadlines, detail, and follow-through
  • Collaborate with paralegals and team members to keep matters moving efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records and systems within Clio and internal tools
Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience, with a focus on estate planning, probate, or guardianship
  • Active Arizona bar license in good standing
  • Strong client-facing skills and confidence in leading meetings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while staying aligned with the team

Preferred:

  • Experience reviewing and advising on estate plans
  • Experience with trust administration and guardianship proceedings
  • Familiarity with Clio or similar practice management systems
What We’re Looking For

You are someone who:

  • Enjoys working directly with clients and building relationships
  • Can translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • Is thoughtful, thorough, and detail-oriented in your work
  • Takes ownership of your cases and follows through consistently
  • Wants to grow with a team and contribute to something meaningful
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary based on experience, starting at $95,000
  • Full-time, in-person role
  • PTO and firm holidays
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match after eligibility
