Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Physical Therapist (PT) in developing and executing therapy programs tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Administer treatment interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress, reporting changes in condition and responses to treatment to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records and ensure compliance with state regulations and standards of care.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, home exercises, and methods to prevent injury or recurrence post-discharge.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging environment, motivating patients to engage actively in their rehabilitation process.
  • Assist with logistics such as preparing treatment areas, ensuring equipment availability, and adhering to hygiene standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA at Emerald Valley PT, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, chronic pain issues, and conditions affecting mobility. Your role will significantly impact their recovery process, helping them regain independence and improve physical function. You will assess patient needs and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited program for Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Active and valid Florida PTA license or eligibility for licensure in Florida.
  • Strong foundation in therapeutic techniques, particularly in orthopedic rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively convey treatment plans and motivational techniques.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in clinical patient care, ideally in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient documentation and patient monitoring.
  • Familiarity with both manual therapy techniques and exercise-based rehabilitation.
