Purpose of Positionย 

Theย Director, Consumer Lending, Directย is responsible for organizing and directing the operations ofย a world classย Consumer Lending Department including policies, procedures, compliance, budget, day-to-day operations, and production relative to the origination, underwriting, processing, closing, and servicing of consumer loans.ย ย Manages, evaluates, and coaches a team of originators, servicers, and processors.ย ย Monitors the rapidly changing legal/regulatory/competitive environment of consumer lending.ย ย Proactively manages consumer lendingย pipelineย and processes to ensureย timelyย andย accurateย loan processing, decisions, and closings.ย ย ย 

Essential Dutiesย 

The positionโ€™s essential duties include the following:ย 

  • Developย loan operations production tactics to meet overall organizational and department goals. Effectively manages loan production and quality through the establishment of key performance measures. Manages the consumer loan pipeline for pending applications and ensures quality loan service for all parties.ย ย Coordinate loan activities between stateside and overseas branches to ensure uniform application of established procedures.ย 

  • Design, develop,ย implement,ย andย monitorย internal operating policies, procedures and controls that provide acceptable levels of safety to credit union assets. Establishย andย monitorย overall operating standards to ensure sound operating procedures. Monitor loanย operationย to ensure compliance with established loanย policyย and guidelines.ย ย 

  • Administer loan origination system to manageย pipeline, improveย coordinationย and lower costs. Manage,ย administer,ย andย monitorย GAP, Credit Life and Disability, and Collateral Protection programs. Compile and report monthly departmental loan and statistical data.ย 

  • Direct and manage the proper servicing of consumer loans including lien perfection and release, credit reporting, insurance follow up, collateral protection, and loan documentation collateral.ย ย 

  • Direct and manage the activities of consumer lending employees toย include ensuringย employees understand assigned position duties and responsibilities, delegating tasks as appropriate, developing employee knowledge, skills, and abilities through professional/personal development opportunities, coaching and mentoring, as well as providing ongoing performance management and sustaining employee accountability.ย ย 

  • Integrate the consumer lending department plans with organizational strategy for profitability and performance. Establish goals,ย forecastย staffingย needs,ย andย determineย infrastructure requirements. Perform portfolio and department profitability management through planning, staff productivity, and expense control. Effectively manages budget and resource allocation issues including budget development, budget management/administration, budget forecasting, varianceย analysisย and budget reporting. Builds effective inter-departmental coordination and support.ย ย 

  • Responsible for building an effective, healthy team environment within the consumer lending and supporting a productive team environment throughout the credit union. Effectively documents andย resolvesย performance issues.ย ย 

  • Understand regulatory compliance including all applicable consumer and real estate lending laws. Effectively develop, implement, and update complaint policy and procedures. Cooperate with internal and external compliance audits.ย ย 

  • Remainย cognizantย of and adheres toย Andrewsย Federal policies and procedures, and regulationsย pertaining toย the Bank Secrecy Act.ย 

Requiredย KSAsย ย 

  • BA/BSย degreeย inย Business Administrationย or related fieldย with 8+ years of experienceย of direct consumer lending experience in a financial services organizationย required.ย ย 

  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct management experience.ย 

  • Must have working knowledge in underwriting, processing, closing, and servicing consumer loans.ย 

  • Must have working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to lending including, but not limited to, REGย B ,ย  ECOA, FCRA, and Reg Z.ย ย 

  • Mustย possessย strong technical, quantitative reasoning, problem solving, organization, decision-making, and administrative skills.ย ย 

  • ย Mustย exhibitย exceptional staff and memberย relationย skills.ย ย ย 

  • Prior sales experience preferred.ย 

  • Experience working in complex environments with a high degree of organizational effectiveness.ย ย ย 

  • Proficiencyย with Microsoft Officeย required.ย ย ย 

  • Excellent verbal, written, and exceptional organizational skillsย required.ย 

Physical Requirementsย 

  • Ability to sit at a desk and computer for extended periods.ย ย

Salary

$104,654.60 - $130,818.25
