Help create a safe, welcoming environment where patients, families, and employees can thrive.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Eisner Health provides culturally competent, full life-cycle care to more than 40,000 children, adults, and older adults throughout Los Angeles County each year. Our services include medical and prenatal care, women's health, dental, behavioral health, optometry, dermatology, case management and care coordination, patient benefits and enrollment, outreach, pharmacy, and laboratory services.
We are looking for a Security Supervisor who shares our commitment to service, safety, and community. This is an opportunity to lead security operations in a dynamic healthcare environment while maintaining a safe and secure environment across Eisner Health locations.
Position Summary
You will lead and support internal and contracted security personnel, partner with site leadership, assess security needs, coordinate staffing, strengthen emergency preparedness, and help ensure our security practices reflect Eisner Health's standards and mission. This role is ideal for a hands-on security professional who knows how to lead people, build strong partnerships, identify risks, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Essential Duties
Supervision & Leadership
  • Supervise, assign, coach, and evaluate internal and vendor security personnel.
  • Mentor the Security Specialist and support alignment with departmental goals.
  • Build a culture of professionalism, accountability, service, and safety.
  • Monitor contracted security staff to ensure performance meets Eisner Health standards.

Keep Our Locations Covered & Prepared
  • Develop and manage security schedules to maintain appropriate coverage across Eisner Health locations.
  • Partner with vendor supervisors to address staffing gaps and changing operational needs.
  • Respond proactively to emerging security concerns and operational challenges.

Train for Safety & De-escalation
  • Provide or coordinate training for security personnel on Eisner Health policies, emergency procedures, and effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Support ongoing professional development for internal security staff.
  • Help ensure security personnel understand how to balance safety, professionalism, compassion, and respect when interacting with patients and families.

Assess & Strengthen Site Security
  • Conduct regular security assessments at Eisner Health locations.
  • Partner with location leaders and security teams to identify vulnerabilities, evaluate risks, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive security assessment reports and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.

Support Policies & Compliance
  • Assist with developing, reviewing, and updating security policies and procedures.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen security practices across the organization.

Build Strong Community & Emergency Partnerships
  • Serve as a liaison between Eisner Health and local law enforcement, fire departments, and patrol services.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness programs, drills, and after-action reviews.
  • Represent the Security function on relevant committees and contribute to organization-wide safety initiatives.

Communicate & Report
  • Review and monitor Daily Activity Reports (DARs) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide timely written and verbal updates to leadership regarding security incidents, trends, risks, and recommendations.
  • Maintain professional, collaborative relationships with leaders, employees, vendors, patients, and external partners.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • 3+ years of security experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active California Guard Card.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage vendor relationships.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a diverse team.

Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working in a healthcare, community health, hospital, or similarly complex environment.
  • Experience with de-escalation, emergency preparedness, incident response, or security assessments.
