Staff Accountant / Tax & Bookkeeping

We are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have experience with bookkeeping, accounting, tax preparation, and data entry, with a strong understanding of personal and business tax returns.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and corporate tax returns
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Perform accounting and bookkeeping data entry
• Work with Excel to organize, analyze, and maintain financial information
• Assist with payroll processing and payroll tax filings
• Prepare and maintain financial records and supporting documentation
• Assist with sales tax, payroll tax, and other accounting-related filings
• Review financial information for accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Communicate with clients as needed to obtain accounting and tax information
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the firm

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an accounting or CPA firm preferred
• Experience preparing individual, partnership, S-Corporation, and corporate tax returns
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with payroll taxes and payroll-related filings
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
