eir business is seeking a Akamai App & API Protection Engineer to join a team of network andsecurity infrastructure professionals delivering managed network services to alarge Irish enterprise client. The role involved supporting theongoing implementation, configuration, and optimisation of Akamai App &API Protector. This is a long-term, embedded support engagement where eir businesswill work closely with internal security and application teams.

Expectations From TheRole:

Key Responsibilities:

• Supportthe configuration, tuning, and day-to-day operation of Akamai App & APIProtector
• Assist inthe review and adjustment of security policies for web applications and APIs
• Monitoralerts and events, and support incident investigations under guidance
• Work withinternal teams to respond to WAF-related issues and change requests
• Helpidentify potential improvements in rule tuning, coverage, and visibility
• Contributeto documentation of rule sets, policy changes, and operational processes
• Collaboratewith Akamai and internal stakeholders to support secure rollout of protectedapps
• Engage incontinuous learning and skill development around the Akamai platform
• Prepare and deliver security reports and technical briefings coveringoperation, threat activity, policy compliance, risk exposure, and remediationrecommendations.

Requirements For ASuccessful Application:

• Exposureto Akamai solutions (e.g., Kona Site Defender, Edge DNS, or relatedservices)
• Familiaritywith security alerting, logging, and monitoring tools
• Previousexperience supporting enterprise web applications or public APIs

Required Skills & Attributes

• Web application security risks (e.g., OWASP Top 10)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Willingness and capability to learn new tools and technologies on thejob
• Automation/scripting skills such as Python
