The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to promote and enhance the rehabilitation process and contribute to the overall well-being of children and their families.

About the Organization

At Effective Movement Therapy, LLC, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional home care therapy services. Our mission is to empower children and families through innovative and effective physical therapy interventions. We focus on individualized treatment plans that promote health, development, and function, ensuring that each patient receives personalized attention and care. Our team represents a diverse array of experiences, culturally enriching our service delivery and fostering an inclusive workplace environment.

Work Environment

This position is onsite, integrating into a home care setting where you will work directly with patients in their own environments. This setting allows for a unique opportunity to engage families in the therapeutic process and tailor your approach to the specific needs of each individual child. You will collaborate closely with office staff and other healthcare professionals, promoting a cohesive approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive screenings and evaluations to assess the physical and functional needs of pediatric patients.
  • Design and implement individual treatment plans focusing on restoring mobility, relieving pain, and preventing disabilities.
  • Provide direct therapeutic care, including remedial treatments and interventions, to improve patients' physical functions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, educating them about therapy goals, progress, home programs, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to coordinate patient care, including liaising with physicians on patient progress and referrals to other services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational protocols.
  • Facilitate family caregiver training and counseling to maximize support and engagement in the treatment process.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with a pediatric population, which requires a deep understanding of child development and the unique challenges faced by children with physical disabilities or developmental delays. As a physical therapist, you will assess the child's needs within the family context, incorporating evidence-based practices and family dynamics into your therapy approach.

Qualifications
  • Active Florida Physical Therapist license.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or pediatric rehabilitation setting.
  • Strong proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques and a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with pediatric patients and their families.
  • Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred Experience

While clinical experience is essential, preference will be given to candidates with additional specialties related to pediatric therapy, such as pediatric neurological disorders or musculoskeletal conditions. Experience utilizing innovative therapeutic modalities and techniques tailored for children will be advantageous. Knowledge of current trends and practices in pediatric physical therapy is also preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance to support your health and well-being.
  • Life and disability insurance to ensure peace of mind.
  • Professional liability insurance for added job security.
  • An employee assistance program that offers mental health support.
  • Minimal paperwork requirements to keep your focus on direct patient care.
  • A supportive environment that fosters a full caseload, providing a busy and fulfilling schedule.
