EcoLube Recovery is looking for a Class A Driver to join their team in Eugene, Oregon! This position drives a Class A or B truck  over an established route to collect containerized package and/or bulk liquid from customers 2-3 days per week and drive a Class A truck to deliver bulk liquid and/or containerized package to ELR and 3rd party locations 2-3 days a week. This position works about 45-50 hrs a week and requires 1 overnight stay per week in Portland. Otherwise, it is home nightly!

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety transport hazardous and nonhazardous materials in bulk or drums utilizing Class A or B company vehicles.
  • Collect bulk liquids and/or containerized package from customers 2-3 days per week.
  • Transport bulk liquid and/or containerized package to ELR and 3rd party locations 2-3 days a week.
  • Assist with organizing route service events in an efficient and timely manner, including call in services
  • Communicate regularly with Customer Service/Dispatch throughout the day
  • Make required number of stops each day at various customer locations as scheduled to include Call-In service requests
  • Load and unload containerized waste
  • Accurately completes all required customer and DOT paperwork.
  • Listens to and resolves service complaints; involve Branch Manager and/or Account Manager where appropriate
  • Unloads truck at their assigned ELR facility each day
  • Keeps both interior and exterior of collection truck clean and in good operating order
  • Complies with all ELR safety and environmental policies.
  • Complies with all standard company operating and safety procedures and protocols
  • Act in a professional manner toward customers, prospective customers, vendors, and co-workers
  • Other duties as assigned

What do you need?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years’ experience driving Class A vehicles required
  • 1-2 year’s route-based driving experience highly preferred
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements required
  • Basic operating knowledge of computers, including basic Office suite
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong customer service and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to understand instructions given verbally or in writing in English
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

What are the physical requirements (with or without accommodation)?

  • Must be able to meet the requirements to pass a DOT physical.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to drive and operate equipment.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move more than 75lbs.
