Job description

EPIC Health Partners is seeking passionate and motivated Certified Substance Abuse Counselors to join our growing team as group facilitators within our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role delivers virtual services, providing structured group education, relapseprevention support, and personcentered interventions to individuals engaged in substance use treatment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate psychoeducational, skillsbuilding, and therapeutic group sessions in accordance with ASAM criteria and program requirements.
  • Support individuals in identifying treatment goals and applying recoveryoriented skills.
  • Maintain group structure, safety, engagement, and therapeutic boundaries in a person-centered environment.
  • Monitor participant participation and report clinical or safety concerns requiring supervisory or clinical review.
  • Collaborate with clinical supervisors, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including group notes and attendance records, in compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, and EPIC Health Partners standards.
  • Provide crisis support and service coordination as needed within scope of role.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.


Qualifications:

  • Active registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC supervisee is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing substance use and/or mental health services in individual, family, or group settings.
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria, relapseprevention strategies, and evidencebased addiction treatment approaches.
  • Ability to facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
