About the Role
The duties of this position require proactive engagement in the substantive work of the EDPNC Business Recruitment and Existing Industry teams. Support project managers in day-to-day efforts to attract new companies to and grow within North Carolina. Work independently in project support roles, seeking guidance from the Director, Project Management and Support, or an individual project manager in cases of first impression. This position will also be responsible for the management and coordination of various on-going team initiatives as outlined.
What You'll Do
Project Support
- Proactively assist Business Recruitment Managers and Existing Industry with project strategy and provide project support. Participate in project kick-off calls, work to understand project drivers to assist in developing NC's value proposition, coordinate site/building searches, and assist with client presentations.
- Manage the development of timely and accurate county responses to RFIs issued by companies or site consultants. Provide guidance to local communities via effective completion of the RFI, development of additional materials, including customized building/site comparison templates, and detailed instructions and points of emphasis. Vet completed RFI submissions, and, when necessary, engage with local economic developers for clarification and/or correction of content to enhance the quality of responses. Coordinate with project managers to create additional deliverables, such as pitch decks, for various RFI submissions or project site visits.
- Manage the EDPNC Building & Sites Database, as well as the RFP Builder Tool and serve as the main point of contact for both the system provider (Zoom Prospector) and the various local partners/allies seeking general and/or specific information. This includes the responsibility of keeping up with vendor contracts (Zoom Prospector and other third-party feed services) and processing those contract invoices annually.
Resource Development
- Provide guidance to local communities regarding effective completion of RFIs, site visit prep, regular project updates, etc.
- Curate and maintain a resource library for the project managers. Gather intel, catalog resources, and best practices. Maintain database of key contacts, program Q&As, guidelines and training documents, pitch decks, and industry-specific resources.
- Assist team members in preparing information for presentations.
- Manage the publication and distribution of the Business Recruitment Quarterly Newsletter, Annual Real Estate Report, and other team publications. Responsible for the development of content and collaboration with the EDPNC Research and Marketing team regarding messaging, graphics, and overall design as well as presentation of findings to stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities - Business Recruitment and Existing Industry Initiatives
- A key interaction between our organization and the NCDOC is our weekly project evaluation process. This role provides operations support including a thorough review of weekly projects, NCDOC briefing package preparation, and participating in weekly project review meetings.
- Maintain Business Recruitment and Existing Industry travel and events calendar, coordinate with EDPNC Events Manager, track participant registration and all conference deadlines.
- Plan regional community engagement events for supported teams.
- Serve as a liaison between Business Recruitment/Existing Industry and other EPDNC departments, including Marketing, Research, Salesforce Administration, and Investor Relations.
- Serve as a first point of contact for local partners, utility providers, and key stakeholders. Provide maintenance to the contact database of local EDOs and partners.
- Assist in maintaining Salesforce records, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Who Should Apply
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 2 years related professional experience
- Background in public service or economic development preferred
Licenses and Knowledge
- Proficiency in MS Office specifically Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic experience with Adobe
- Salesforce or other CRM experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Basic Economic Development Certification (or equivalent) is a plus
