Description: This position is posted for our Headquarter Facilities in Clarence, NY. However, the selected candidate will primarily work at Global Abrasives, Inc.'s current location in Lockport, NY for approximately the first four months as our expansion approaches completion. 

Job Summary

The Material Handler will be responsible for the safe, secure and organized transport of incoming and outgoing material between shipping and production machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport all incoming and outgoing material to and from shipping dock.
• Transport material to and from production machines.
• May need to run a production machine for an average of 1 hour per day due to work load fluctuations.
• Move rolls to and from machines using hand trucks or fork lifts and unload incoming shipments.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a professional, clean and safe work area.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 2-3 years of Manufacturing experience operating sit-down, standup, and manual fork trucks.
• Experience operating standup forklift required.
• Prior certification of forklift operations required
• Knowledge of operating manual equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, or other moving equipment.
• Must be flexible, friendly and proactive.
• The ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
