Job Description

Dunne Kozlowski, a full-service design firm, is seeking an experienced and motivated Architectural Associate – Intermediate to join our collaborative team. This role is ideal for an architectural professional ready to take greater ownership of projects while continuing to develop project management, technical, and leadership capabilities.


Working alongside our interior designers, architects, and project branding team members, the person in this position will take an active role in projects from conceptual design through construction completion, with increased responsibility for architectural documentation, technical coordination, project schedules, consultant coordination, and day-to-day communication with clients and project stakeholders. The Architectural Associate – Intermediate will be working closely with senior project leadership to ensure projects meet Dunne Kozlowski’s standards for design, technical execution, client service, and project delivery. This role will report to the Project Architect.


About The Opportunity

In this collaborative role, you'll work closely with experienced designers and architects, contributing to all project lifecycle phases, from conceptual design to construction drawing. Utilizing Revit software, participating in client meetings, and interpreting building codes, your expertise will be pivotal in maintaining our reputation for design excellence and bringing our client's visions into reality.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with interior designers and other architects to create cohesive, innovative design solutions.
  • Participate in all project lifecycle phases: conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Develop architectural designs into detailed plans using Revit software.
  • Prepare 3D models, renderings, and other presentation materials.
  • Prepare and revise drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Assist in coordinating design and construction within the project budget and schedule.
  • Attend client meetings, conduct site visits, and help to interpret their requirements.
  • Contribute to design review meetings and internal team coordination.
  • Understand and apply building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Assist senior architects with project management and administration tasks.


Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor's or Master's).
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in an architectural firm.
  • Experience working with domestic clients in the restaurant and hospitality industry is preferred but optional.
  • Professional experience working in Revit for a minimum of one (1) year.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design, drafting, detailing, building materials, and codes.
  • Familiarity with design and documentation of architectural and interior design projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, working directly with clients and vendors.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.


Schedule

This full-time role is in Dunne Kozlowski's hybrid studio in Humboldt Park. Mondays and Fridays are remote, and Tuesdays through Thursdays are in the studio.
