Position Overview
dormakaba is seeking a Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II is responsible for performing machine setups and tool changes and making adjustments, as necessary. The position also provides training to lower-level machinists.
This position is available on Third Shift (9:30PM - 6:00AM) with a base pay range of $23 hr. - $35/hr. Mandatory overtime as needed.
$2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)
What you will do
  • Operate machine according to standard operating instructions
  • Operate machine(s) safely & communicate any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person
  • Perform machine setups, tool changes, and make adjustments as necessary
  • Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals as required
  • Ability to operate/run multiple machines simultaneously

What we require
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive experience (operating, setups, tool changes, etc.)
  • Understanding of: shop math, blueprint reading/comprehension
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to perform advanced quality inspections

  • Must be able to sit, stand, alternate sitting or standing at will, and walk
  • Must be able to use hands for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. as well as fine manipulation: touching, picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead & at or below shoulder level
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, and balance
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Must have near & far visual acuity with or without correction
  • Must also be able to effectively communicate within a manufacturing environment
  • Must have the ability to maneuver in a manufacturing facility

  • Documented manufacturing education/training
  • An understanding in the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and similar quality control concepts
  • Computer proficiency
  • Lean skills
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
