Qualifications

Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Clear and valid Driver's License (Class C required; Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred) and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver's requirements.

Ability to speak, read and understand the English language and perform counting and mathematical skills.

Warehouse or distribution center experience with a working knowledge of warehouse terms and experience in the operation of standard warehouse equipment preferred.

Physically able to perform assigned duties. Frequently required to lift up to 80 lbs., walk, stoop, stand, climb ladders and stairs. Continuously required to work with material handling machinery.

Physically able to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.

Essential Functions

1. Receive merchandise utilizing receiving tickets, purchase orders and bills of lading.
2. Pull and issue supplies and materials from inventory by requisition. Stage these materials by packaging items to make them ready for shipping inclusive of sorting, wrapping, packaging and labeling orders.
3. Load delivery vehicles according to scheduled routing.
4. Operate forklift, pallet moving and other standard warehousing equipment safely.
5. Perform routine maintenance to warehouse equipment and notify the supervisor of contract repairs needed or safety concerns of equipment performance.
6. Learn and use the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD electronic purchasing and inventory management systems as it relates to the material handler functions.
7. Assist in the weekly inventory process.
8. Make emergency hot shot deliveries as needed.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager or his designee.
10. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Working Conditions

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching; heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; work on ladders and scaffolding. Exposure to dampness and humidity and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
