Job description

The Front Desk plays a vital role in managing the smooth operation of the front desk within a small team of 1-3 people. This position reports directly to the Department Head and primarily supports visitor management, communication, and administrative duties during weekday daytime hours, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment for both staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers and visitors promptly and courteously
  • Handle incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • Manage visitor check-ins and maintain visitor logs
  • Perform accurate data entry for various administrative records
  • Disseminate information to staff, visitors, and other stakeholders
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries
  • Monitor and reorder office supplies to maintain adequate stock
  • Resolve routine issues or escalate as necessary
  • Serve as a communication liaison between the front desk and other departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proficient telephone etiquette
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Experience with scheduling and calendar management
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to multitask efficiently
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good time management skills
