Essential Job Functions:
- Stock and display meat items in accordance with Dillon standards.
- Check product quality; make sure it is always fresh, safe, and is properly rotated.
- Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized.
- Keep floors, clean, safe, and free from clutter.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and well organized.
- Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and Health Dept. policies and procedures.
- Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
- Provide good customer and associate relations.
- Unload trucks, sort orders, and place in proper cooler location.
- Able to communicate with customers and fellow associates.
- Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully. Greet customers and assist them in finding products.
- Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat, Company, and State and Federal laws, as made known.
- Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
- Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
- Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Standing & Walking – Frequent standing & walking. Estimated total time 7.5 hrs. Maximum continuous time up to 4 hrs.
- Sitting – Rarely required. Estimated total time 30 mins. Maximum continuous time 30 mins.
- Lifting & Carrying – Max weight 100 lbs., average weight 30-40 lbs.; distance carried less than 5 feet. Must frequently lift items under 10 lbs. and items between 11-25 lbs., occasionally lift items 26-75 lbs. and rarely lift items 76- 100 lbs.
- Pushing and Pulling –Occasionally pushing or pulling carts, tray racks, and flat beds loaded with product across store.
- Climbing – Occasionally climb step ladder ranging from 1.5 feet to 3 feet tall. Occasionally reaching products stored on shelves above reach.
- Bending/Squatting/Kneeling – Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching products at ground level and/or stocking displays at lower heights. Up to 5-6 hours continuously during deliveries. Other – This position also requires constant use of either arm or both for reaching in all directions.
- Other requirements include walking across sloped surfaces, twisting, neck flexion/extension, cervical rotation, high grip strength, frequent forearm movement, and frequent or sustained awkward wrist positions.
- Work Conditions – Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, sudden changes in temperature, tool vibration & sharp edges.
