Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Endoscopy Center position requiring an IL RN license, BLS, ACLS, and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

Details
  • Outpatient endoscopy center setting caring for patients undergoing routine GI procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • 4x9-hour day shifts with rotating start times typically between 0630 and 0800
  • 36 hours per week
  • Float requirement between the Endoscopy Center and the Digestive Health Department
  • No weekend or holiday shifts required
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting
  • Provides direct patient care through prep, intra-procedure, and recovery (Phase 1 and Phase 2) phases
  • Administers moderate sedation under physician direction and assists CRNA during anesthesia cases
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted)
  • BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certifications required
  • ASN required
  • Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
  • Skilled in IV insertion, health history review, patient education, and nursing documentation
  • Experience with delegation and collaboration in a team-based care environment
Additional Information
  • Completes patient assessments, reviews health history, starts IVs, and provides patient education prior to procedures
  • Monitors and sedates patients during GI procedures and provides recovery care in both Phase 1 and Phase 2
  • Collaborates with unit staff and delegates to unlicensed personnel as appropriate
  • Maintains up-to-date nursing documentation and modifies care plans based on ongoing evaluation
  • Reports and corrects safety hazards and incidents as part of patient and employee safety responsibilities
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Previous contingent workers must have completed a 6-month break in service if they were on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system
