Description
Our team is currently looking for a Full-Time Yard Jockey to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service.
Shift:
1st shift (OT and Sat as needed)
Monday- 4am to12:30pm
Tuesday through Thursday 6am to 2pm
Friday - 6am to 2:30pm

The duties of a Dietz & Watson Yard Jockey are listed below but not limited to:
Primary Duties
  • Shuttle trailers between buildings as needed.
  • Place empty trailers in doors from yard or move from yard to dock doors as needed and directed.
  • Check loaded trailers to ensure proper seal and proper temperature.
  • Check each trailer moved for damage or maintenance issues, and report any found issues to garage and supervision.
  • Check yard for damages to electrical poles, docks etc. and ensure necessary inventory is submitted to clerk.
  • Other tasks as directed by clerks, supervision, or management.
  • Requires great attention to detail for safety concerns and truck maintenance.
  • Use Electric Stand for Loading Trucks
  • Use a Box Truck to transport smaller loads between buildings
Minimum Requirements
Requirements
  • MUST possess a valid driver's license.
  • Walking on a continual basis
  • Standing on a continual basis
  • Ability to Climb Stairs 75%
  • Bending Frequently 50%
  • Twisting Frequently 50%
  • Lifting to 20 pounds, at arm's length, on a continual basis
  • Occasionally lifts to 60 pounds.
  • Use of both hands and arms
  • Requires a high level of concentration and attention to detail.
General Working Conditions/Environment
  • Due to the refrigeration that is required for the products, the room temperature varies from -10 to 33 degrees (F).
  • Ability to work in inclement weather.
  • Fast paced environment with heavy machinery being operated on the shipping floor and on truck yard
