Work Environment

As a remote position, the role of our Licensed Mental Health Counselor allows for flexibility and autonomy while ensuring high-quality client care. You will leverage telehealth technologies to conduct therapy sessions, maintain electronic health records (EHR), and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. You will need a laptop and reliable internet connection to facilitate efficient communication and documentation in a vibrant virtual work culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of client mental health status to formulate individualized treatment plans addressing their unique needs.
  • Utilize various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and motivational interviewing, to guide sessions.
  • Provide ongoing support through regular therapy sessions, helping clients to develop coping strategies and tools to manage their mental health effectively.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure holistic treatment approaches.
  • Document all interactions and maintain accurate electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
  • Lead virtual group therapy sessions as needed, promoting peer support and shared learning among participants.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will work with a diverse population, addressing a range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, substance use issues, and eating disorders. Your ability to build rapport and provide culturally competent care will be essential in engaging clients from various backgrounds, ensuring they feel understood and supported throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid state licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in clinical settings, demonstrating a strong foundation in mental health counseling.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment practices and a solid understanding of diverse mental health disorders.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure during challenging situations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities, allowing for effective interactions with clients and colleagues alike.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy integrated with culturally responsive practices.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, demonstrating proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • A commitment to continuing education and professional growth, showcasing an eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic field.
