Job description

Legal Intake & Business Development Specialist — Remote

The mission of this position is to create a thoughtful, informed, and trust-building first experience for prospective clients while helping them understand their legal needs, the value of protecting their brand, and the right next step with DiAngelo Law.

This role exists to combine education, relationship-building, and strategic follow-up so that qualified prospective clients feel heard, supported, and confident in moving forward, while also strengthening the firm’s intake, client relationship, and business development systems.

What’s in it for you

  • A meaningful client-facing role with direct impact on firm growth, so your work is visible and connected to real business results.
  • Remote work with structure, support, and clear expectations, giving you flexibility while still staying connected to the team and the firm’s goals.
  • The opportunity to help entrepreneurs and business owners protect and grow their brands in a way that supports their larger business goals.
  • A role that blends intake, sales, client relationships, and business development, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad and valuable skill set.
  • The opportunity to help build and improve the firm’s sales, intake, and client experience systems, with a real voice in how the role and function develop over time.
  • A collaborative team environment that values initiative, follow-through, and thoughtful communication, so strong work and good judgment are noticed and appreciated.
  • Starting compensation structured as salary, with the role designed to evolve into a salary-plus-bonus model based on defined goals, performance, measurable contribution, and firm growth, so your financial growth can be tied to the value you help create.
  • A role with room to grow your own position within the firm by taking ownership of the intake/business development function, improving systems, strengthening follow-up, and helping turn firm visibility and client trust into strong client relationships.

The Work

  • Prepare for and conduct prospective client discovery calls.
  • Clearly and confidently educate prospective clients on the legal process and the firm’s process.
  • Identify prospective clients’ goals and legal needs, then help guide them toward the appropriate services and next steps.
  • Send representation agreements, payment links, and diligent follow-up.
  • Track all leads, notes, tags, lead sources, and next steps in the CRM.
  • Help reactivate prior leads, former clients, and referral opportunities.
  • Conduct client check-ins after matters close and at future relationship-building touchpoints.
  • Support referral outreach, client gifting, testimonials, and client retention initiatives.
  • Work with the attorney and marketing team on outreach campaigns, events, speaking opportunities, and business development efforts.
  • Help create, document, and improve intake, sales, CRM, and client relationship systems.

Workload and Structure

  • Availability and prompt communication during standard business hours are required.
  • This position requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. Candidates should be interested in growing with the firm, as increased hours, responsibility, and compensation opportunities will be tied to performance, contribution, and firm growth.
  • Candidates must be willing to dedicate at least 10 hours per week during standard business hours for the core functions of the role, including prospective client calls, lead follow-up, intake/business development activity, and team communication.
  • Mandatory, on-camera team meetings are held every Monday at Noon EST.
  • Candidates must be self-directed and accountable, with the ability to work independently while consistently adhering to firm systems, procedures, communication standards, and collaborative team practices.
  • Deadlines, follow-up expectations, CRM updates, and reporting requirements must be consistently met.
  • Strict adherence to firm SOPs is required, along with timely weekly and monthly reporting to track lead activity, follow-up, conversions, client outreach, and business development progress.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly, professionally, and in plain English.
  • Comfortable speaking with prospective clients, asking thoughtful questions, identifying needs, and guiding them toward the appropriate next step.
  • Confident discussing legal services, pricing, value, and process in a way that is consultative, strategic, and client-centered.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and highly consistent with follow-up, especially when managing multiple leads, conversations, and next steps at the same time.
  • Comfortable using CRMs, checklists, templates, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to keep information accurate, current, and actionable.
  • Committed to following established processes, while also able to identify gaps, suggest improvements, and help make systems stronger over time.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented, with the judgment to move things forward without waiting to be told every next step.
  • Able to work independently in a remote environment while staying responsive, accountable, and connected to the team.
  • Warm, professional, emotionally intelligent, and client-focused, with the ability to build trust quickly and communicate with confidence.
  • Interested in business development, client relationships, and firm growth, not just administrative intake.
  • Willing and able to build a strong working foundation in trademark, intellectual property, and business law.
  • Legal intake, sales, business development, client success, account management, or professional services experience is preferred.
  • Trademark or law firm experience is required.

About DiAngelo Law

DiAngelo Law has built a strong reputation for helping entrepreneurs, small businesses, and growing companies protect their brands with practical, clear, and strategic legal guidance. Since 2015, the firm has grown through trusted client relationships, repeat business, referrals, and a commitment to helping clients make informed decisions about their brands and businesses.

We are continuing to grow with intention by strengthening our systems, improving the client experience, and building a team culture rooted in ownership, follow-through, clear communication, and good judgment. The firm is stable, established, and growth-oriented, but still small enough that the right person can have a real voice in how the role and function develop over time.

This role is for a client-focused, proactive professional with a solid trademark foundation who is comfortable identifying opportunities, guiding prospective clients through the decision-making process, following up with purpose, and helping qualified clients move forward. This is not volume-based sales or pushing services people do not need. It is education-driven, value-driven business development that requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to explain legal concepts in plain English.

The right person will be comfortable speaking with business owners, asking thoughtful questions, listening carefully, reading between the lines, and strategically guiding prospective clients toward the right next step. This is an opportunity to step into an established firm with existing demand, strong client trust, and a clear growth vision while helping build and improve the firm’s intake, business development, and client relationship systems.
