Position Overview

Desert Terrace Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Physical Therapist to join our team in West McLean, Virginia. This role is pivotal in delivering personalized, on-demand physical therapy services to clients in their homes. Key Responsibilities
  • Direct physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and restore muscle function in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Lead and mentor physical therapy assistants to ensure effective implementation of prescribed treatment strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients’ physical capabilities using diagnostic tests for muscle, nerve, joint function, and overall mobility.
  • Assess home environments for rehabilitation potential and recommend adjustments to facilitate client independence.
  • Deliver physical therapy services at home in compliance with physician prescriptions, employing manual therapeutic exercises and instructing clients on functional activities.
  • Administer modalities such as traction and massage, while also providing effective treatments with physical agents.
  • Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, communicating necessary modifications to physicians.
  • Collaborate in the formulation and continuous revision of care plans as part of an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Document clients' progress, changes in condition, and responses to therapy, ensuring transparent communication with other healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, care plans, notes, and discharge summaries, in a timely manner.
  • Engage with clients and their families, providing education and support regarding therapy programs and device operations.
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants as required and support their professional growth.
  • Actively participate in care conferences to discuss multidisciplinary treatment objectives and contribute to achieving client goals.
  • Complete additional assignments as required to meet company objectives and promote client satisfaction.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, chronic conditions, or those requiring rehabilitation to enhance mobility and functionality. Our clients range from young adults to senior citizens, each presenting unique challenges and goals that demand customized therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
  • Active physical therapist license in the state of Virginia, with a clean record and no history of sanctions.
  • A strong competency in a variety of manual therapy techniques and a solid foundation in evidence-based physical therapy practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficient in utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, preferably Web PT, for accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary physical therapy techniques and ongoing research in the field.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and executing effective client-centered exercise programs that produce measurable outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits

We are pleased to offer a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
