Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic modalities to address a variety of mental health concerns.
• Monitor and assess clients' progress throughout their treatment plans, making necessary adjustments and recommendations based on their evolving needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive and effective intervention plans for clients.
• Maintain communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who may require inpatient care, ensuring continuity of care.
• Identify challenges and barriers to recovery, implementing proactive strategies to mitigate behaviors that may hinder clients’ progress.
• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools and techniques to manage mental behavioral challenges within the family unit.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Desert Mind Behavioral Health Center, you will support a diverse client population ranging from children and adolescents to adults and families. Our clients often face various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Your role will focus on understanding each client's unique circumstances and co-creating personalized intervention strategies that empower them towards recovery.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State is mandatory.
• Demonstrated work experience as a Mental Health Counselor or in a related role, showcasing your depth of knowledge and practical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, allowing for effective dialogue with clients, families, and team members.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, combined with a sympathetic nature that facilitates trust and rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience

• Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a comparable field.
• Relevant training and certifications related to mental health counseling, such as trauma-informed care or cognitive-behavioral therapy.
• In-depth familiarity with psychotropic medications and their effects, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of clients' treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 101,000, commensurate with your experience and productivity levels.
