Position Summary

The barback is responsible for stocking and restocking all bar supplies while maintaining an organized bar area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Properly sets up the bar stations, prepares and restocks garnishes, as directed by management.
• Responsible for keeping all liquor displays and shelving organized and maintaining par levels.
• Cleaning counters and furniture, cleaning glasses, running food, clearing plates, taking out trash, unclogging sinks, etc.
• Keep the bar and storage area neat and organized. 
• Removing and emptying trash along with recycling. 
• Ensures bar is well stocked and full, duties may include refilling ice wells, stocks glasses and straws, replenishes liquor bottles, restocks beers, and other beverages. 
• Putting away shipments of liquor and beer in designated areas. 
• Tracking opening and closing inventory levels. 
• Performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures.
• Maintain and ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of work area/assigned station and the establishment. 
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time. 
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. 
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including, but not limited to, cutlery used in the cutting of fruit for garnishes.

Skills/Experience

• Previous experience as a barback in a similar role.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Professional verbal and written communication with guests, co-workers, and leadership. 
• Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive with strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
• Food Handlers card up to date.
• Must have Alcohol Awareness card up to date.
