College, Career, and Civic Readiness (CCCR) Program Coordinator - Promise Community

Reports to: Project Manager

The College, Career, and Civic Readiness (CCCR) Program Coordinator will assist in the implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of two programs - the Youth Council and College Promise Initiative (CPI). The Youth Council program is designed to provide high school youth the opportunity to make a difference by empowering youth, enhancing life and leadership skills, and enriching the community. The purpose of the CPI program is to provide high school youth with the resources, tools, and mindset to graduate high school and continue onto a postsecondary education.

MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, social work, political science, public administration/policy, or related field
  • Preferred two years of teaching experience in the Mississippi Delta
  • Experience with non-profit programs including working with youth, organizing volunteers, managing youth, and community engagement
  • Must havea valid Mississippi Driver's License, proof of insurance, and must provide a personal vehicle to travel to community and school sites

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Youth Council program and the CPI program by instructing sessions and serving as the main point of contact.
  • Develop plans, implement, and instruct the Youth Council sessions to empower and motivate students through personal development to increase academic achievement and involvement in their community.
  • Develop plans, implement, and instruct the CPI sessions to increase college readiness and support students in their postsecondary education planning process.
  • Plan events, trips, and speakers.
  • Develop and implement detailed work plans describing tasks, timelines, and responsibilities, of all related activities and events.
  • Assist in designing, planning, and implementing summer camps for older youth.
  • Advise management to the status and progress of the programs including providing notification of programmatic issues.
  • Assist internal staff and external partners on all programmatic issues.
  • Serve as liaison with project partners.
  • Represent Delta Health Alliance in collaborative community-wide activities while developing positive working relationships with local, state, and federal agencies as directed.
  • Identify and cultivate positive working relationships with local schools, institutions of higher learning, community organizations, youth programs, and other applicable agencies through but not limited too regional, state, and national initiatives.
  • Enter data on tracking and reporting systems in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with evaluator and DHA staff on assessments and data collection tools.
  • Facilitate meetings with DHA staff and partners to review progress, data, and program issues.
  • Assist in the development of reports, extensions, budget revisions, and other federally required documents as needed.
  • Research best practices from other youth leadership development programs, college preparation programs, and summer enrichment programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
