QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Ability to work with students, parents, and the community.
3. Mechanic ability; being capable of performing minor repairs.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
SUPERVISES: Regular bus fleet; as well as extra-curricular fleet
JOB GOAL: To provide a well-organized smoothly functioning busing of all students both on regularly scheduled routes and extra-curricular routes.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Oversees the general neatness and attractiveness of the bus fleet.
  2. Participates in inservice training programs, as assigned.
  3. Assist with other various duties which are essential in the routine operation of the bus fleet, which are assigned.
  4. Performs routine cleaning of various buses/vans as needed.
  5. Assists drivers in resolving routing conflicts.
  6. Assists with solving discipline problems occurring on school buses.
  7. Assists with parental / student complaints and special requests.
  8. Assists with monitoring road hazards for decision on school closing during inclement weather.
  9. Attends appropriate committee and staff meetings.
  10. Assists administration in relaying various messages to students and drivers.
  11. Performs minor repairs on buses/vans as needed.
  12. Assists mechanic and drivers in moving vehicles to desired locations; and, eliminating reported problems on individual vehicles.
  13. Routinely checks tires, batteries, lights, oil, power steering fluids, brake fluids, and transmission fluids in all vehicles.
  14. Annually rides and observes each school bus driver; evaluating their performance and safety practices.
  15. Report any and all injuries to the immediate supervisor, filling out the appropriate forms.
  16. Report any and all hazardous situations/areas which are considered to be unsafe to the immediate supervisor, filling out necessary forms.
  17. Conform to all rules and regulations of the school and comply with all federal, state, and local laws relating directly or indirectly to the employee's duties.
  18. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign from time to time.
