Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Refrigeration Installation Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role plays a critical part in supporting our mission of providing reliable, temperature-controlled transportation solutions to our customers.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Install refrigeration units and associated components in food transportation vehicles according to engineering specifications and work instructions.
- Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, wiring, and mounting systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
- Perform system testing, startup, and functional verification to ensure proper operation.
- Diagnose and resolve installation issues related to refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve installation processes and product performance.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and testing results.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration systems as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, automotive technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in refrigeration, HVAC installation, vehicle upfitting, manufacturing, or related mechanical trades preferred.
- Experience working with 12V, 24V, or commercial electrical systems preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic understanding of refrigeration principles and temperature control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and results-oriented.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work with tools and equipment requiring manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production conditions.
- Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and other access equipment as required.
