Decatur Public Building Commission

The Decatur Public Building Commission will be accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Technician with regard to the maintenance of seven government facilities located in Decatur.  This is a full-time day shift position.  The successful candidate must be willing to respond to occasional weekend work and on-call responsibilities are required.

Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of commercial buildings, equipment and grounds.

Applicant must possess:

·        Ability to work with minimal supervision.

·        High School graduate or equivalent.

·        Experience and motivation to find, repair, and prevent mechanical problems.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong leadership qualities.

·        A willingness to perform a wide variety of duties in a dynamic work environment.

·        Mechanical, Electrical, Construction and carpentry background is a plus.

·        Valid Driver’s License.

Experience with commercial maintenance preferred.
