The Paw Patch Veterinary Hospital has been a pillar of our community since 1984, established and continuously led by the highly regarded Dr. Erik Tysklind, who has since retired. Our team is now lead by a our PM of 30 years, our medical director, Dr. Abra Foster, and a strong leadership team. Our close-knit team comprises two full-time veterinarians, skilled registered veterinary technicians (RVTs), a dedicated support staff, and a proactive practice manager. This is a full-time position requiring availability on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with additional weekday and Saturday shifts as needed. Hours will range from 30-35 hours per week.ย

Our veterinary clinic in Indianapolis, United States, is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our furry patients and support to their owners.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Restrain and handle animals safely during examinations and treatments
- Triage incoming patients and obtain medical histories from pet owners
- Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal specimens
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor them during anesthesia
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and surgical areas
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment plans and home care instructions
- Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays and ultrasounds
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient care
Pay Range: $15-$18/hr
