Job description

DEMGY Pacific | Tacoma, Washington

Turn Complex Manufacturing Challenges into Better Performance!

Do you naturally see what could work better - and have the drive to make it happen?

Are you a decisive, forward-thinking manufacturing leader who enjoys solving difficult problems, improving processes, and bringing structure to complex operations?

At DEMGY, you will have the autonomy to lead the Machining Division, challenge inefficiencies, and introduce smarter ways of working. You will combine technical expertise, analytical thinking, and strong leadership to improve quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.

Established in 1947, DEMGY offers the stability of an experienced global organization with the opportunity to make a visible impact.

What You’ll Lead

Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will take ownership of the day-to-day performance of the Machining Division. You will:

  • Lead Supervisors, Leads, Machinists, Operators, and Programmers across all shifts.
  • Troubleshoot machining processes and establish optimal operating parameters.
  • Improve cycle times, yield, part quality, delivery, and production costs.
  • Champion Lean, 5S, Kaizen, automation, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to equipment, technology, processes, and workspaces.
  • Partner with Scheduling, Customer Service, and Shipping to meet customer commitments.
  • Determine appropriate staffing levels and support hiring, performance, and workforce decisions.
  • Strengthen employee capability through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Manage departmental KPIs, budgets, overtime, work instructions, safety, and documentation.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience leading machining or manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success supervising, developing, and training employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining, production processes, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience troubleshooting processes to improve productivity, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and inventory-control processes.
  • Strong communication, organization, project-management, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • The confidence to take initiative, make sound decisions, and remain effective under pressure.

You’ll Thrive Here If You

  • Take ownership without waiting to be asked.
  • Enjoy challenging goals and the satisfaction of delivering measurable results.
  • Think several steps ahead and act before problems escalate.
  • Use facts and analysis to identify the right solution.
  • Value clear standards while continually searching for a better approach.
  • Are comfortable making decisions, challenging inefficiencies, and driving change.
  • Want the freedom to improve an operation - not simply maintain it.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $110k - $130k

This is an exempt, onsite position based in Tacoma, Washington. This role may require routinely operating a motor vehicle and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the position.

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Long-Term Disability and Supplemental Benefit Coverage Options
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • 401(k) with Company Matching
  • Generous Paid Time Off
