Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers, and tanker trailers, on OTR routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
• Navigate using GPS systems efficiently to ensure timely deliveries across multiple states and regions
• Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance
• Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, or specialty cargo like automobile transportation or dangerous goods
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any unforeseen issues during transit

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and freight delivery
• Demonstrated ability to operate automatic or manual transmission trucks safely over long distances in diverse conditions
• Prior experience handling logistics cargo including freight loading/unloading and securing loads
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on OTR routes
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), with endorsements for Hazmat or tanker loads preferred
• Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards for safe trucking practices
